This period includes major festivals like Dev Deepawali (November), Mahashivratri (February/March), and the spring season. Avoid May-June as temperatures can reach 45°C. The Ganga Aarti is a spectacular fire ceremony held on the banks of the Ganges River. The main ceremony takes place at Dashashwamedh Ghat every evening at sunset (around 6:30-7:30 PM, varying by season). Priests perform synchronized rituals with large brass lamps, incense, and conch shells. There is also a smaller morning aarti at sunrise. This is the single most iconic experience in Varanasi.
